The HVAC Shop Career Training LLC is dedicated to preparing working adults for a career in the HVAC industry through focused, hands-on vocational training. Our proposed evening HVAC training program is designed for serious students who want to develop practical skills through classroom instruction and hands-on training with real HVAC equipment.
The program is structured around 192 clock hours of training and is designed specifically for working adults who need an evening schedule without sacrificing the quality of their education.
STATE AUTHORIZATION STATUS
The HVAC Shop Career Training LLC is seeking authorization from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC). The proposed program and all related certifications are subject to final state approval and authorization. Program availability and enrollment are contingent upon required state authorization.

INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION PREPARATION
Our training is built around a clear standard: teach the trade, develop real skills, and prepare students to meet the expectations of the HVAC industry. Through classroom instruction and hands-on training, students develop practical knowledge in electrical diagnostics, refrigeration fundamentals, system operation, troubleshooting, refrigerant handling, equipment installation, and safe service practices. The program also provides preparation for industry credentials and requirements relevant to HVAC technicians, including EPA Section 608 Universal Certification, the NATE Ready-to-Work Certificate, and A2L refrigerant safety. Students have the opportunity to apply what they learn, build confidence through hands-on experience, and develop the technical foundation needed to continue growing as HVAC professionals. We believe training should be more than completing a course—it should be about developing the knowledge, discipline, and skills to take pride in the work you do and uphold the standard of the trade.
JOB PLACEMENT SUPPORT
We support students in preparing for their employment search as they complete their HVAC training. Career development resources include resume preparation, interview preparation, job-search guidance, and information about employment opportunities within the HVAC industry. Students may also receive guidance on identifying potential employers, navigating application processes, and presenting their training and skills to prospective employers. Our goal is to help students understand the steps involved in pursuing HVAC employment and provide practical resources they can use throughout their career search.
NATE RECOGNIZED TRAINING PROVIDER
The HVAC Shop Career Training LLC is a NATE Recognized Training Provider offering HVAC education designed to develop the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to enter the HVAC industry. As part of our training program, students are prepared to take the NATE Ready-to-Work examination. This entry-level examination evaluates foundational HVAC knowledge and skills relevant to individuals beginning a career in the industry. Students who successfully complete the required training and pass the examination may earn the NATE Ready-to-Work Certificate. The credential is awarded by NATE based on successful examination performance and is not guaranteed by completion of the training program.
EPA SECTION 608 CERTIFICATION TESTING
The HVAC Shop Career Training LLC provides students with preparation and proctored testing for EPA Section 608 Technician Certification through Mainstream Engineering, an EPA-approved Section 608 certifying organization. As part of their HVACR training, students receive instruction covering the safe handling, recovery, and management of regulated refrigerants and are prepared for the applicable EPA Section 608 examination. Students who successfully pass the required examination may obtain their EPA Section 608 Technician Certification through Mainstream Engineering.
A3/A2L LOW-GWP REFRIGERANT TRAINING & CERTIFICATION
The HVAC Shop Career Training LLC provides training focused on the safe handling, servicing, and application of A3 and A2L low-GWP refrigerants, including refrigerant characteristics, safety practices, proper handling procedures, and industry considerations associated with newer low-GWP refrigerant technologies. Eligible students may have the opportunity to take the Mainstream Engineering HC(A3) & HFO(A2L) Low-GWP Refrigerant Certification examination at The HVAC Shop through an authorized Mainstream Engineering proctor. Completion of The HVAC Shop’s training does not guarantee A3/A2L certification. The certification is issued by Mainstream Engineering and is earned only by successfully completing the required certification examination and meeting Mainstream Engineering’s applicable requirements. Students are responsible for taking the examination and achieving a passing score. Enrollment in or completion of training does not guarantee that a student will pass the examination or receive A3/A2L certification.

Initial facility development and startup support for The HVAC Shop Career Training LLC were provided by a private HVAC industry partner whose support helped establish the training facility and educational resources for future students.
